Chapter 29: Avatar # 4 : Narasimha Avatar

HK is too distressed. How can P overcome all the obstacles. He gets too frustrated and asks where Vishnu is. P says Vishnu is everywhere. Is he in this pillar? asks HK. Yes, says P.

HK orders that pillar to be heated up. Pillar becomes red hot after servants heat it up. HK orders P to go and hug the pillar, if it really is Vishnu. P hesitates but only for a second. He starts his usual chant 'Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya' and approaches the pillar. Meanwhile, Vishnu gets into the usual trance mode which is common when He is trying to save His devotees. Lakshmi bows to him. Thanks to Vishnu, pillar cools down. P hugs it. Nothing happens. HK flares up. He takes the sword and rashly approaches P to cut him into pieces. He, as a father wanted to avoid killing his own son, but there is no other option left.

Just as he tries to behead P, out comes Vishnu as half human half man extremely ferocious lion-like ‘Narasimha.’ Time is evening. The Narasimha drags HK half outside palace, half inside, neither on earth nor in sky, and rips his body apart in bare hands without using any weapon. HK is outwitted by his own vows. The death of HK by [Avatar No 4] Narasimha avatar of Vishnu.

The ferocity of Vishnu/Narasimha is not over even after killing of HK. So Brahma comes and asks him to cool down. Unsuccessful. Then Shiva. Nope. Lakshmi, nope. Due to this ferocity, Earth is going bonkers - volcanic eruptions, floods, etc. So everyone wants him to cool down. So Lakshmi asks P to request V to cool down. P does so, he convinces Vishnu that finally all the badness (aka HK) is now gone, so V can cool down. P says V wants to see the nice pleasant face of Vishnu, and so finally Vishnu cools down - and transforms from half man half lion to His Beauty Self. All are happy. Vishnu says that this is what happens whoever proclaims to be God.

Then, Kayadu is crying. Lakshmi is glad to get back the all smiley Vishnu, after the lionish form. Debate in palace about lighting HK’s pyre. A or P. A says P. Kayadu prepares for sati (widow suicide). P convinces her of the futility of it and ‘whats-the-point’ approach. He says its her duty to take care of her son (P) than die for the dead (HK). Kayadu is convinced. She doesn’t fall to the pyre. From this moment on, no more Sati - P announces.

P releases Indra & Co from the jail (jailed by HK). People should belong to their respective locations=> Devtas:Akash::Maanav:Bhoomi::Asuras:Paatal. They are all shocked to learn that Vishnu killed HK despite a boon which almost made HK invincible. Indra is ashamed at his previous act when he had tried to abduct Kayadu and kill the child in her womb. Now, that child himself is releasing him to his kingdom.
