Chapter 58: Viswamithra’s yagna successful!

Viswamithra seeks Rama’s help through Dasharath in order to offset Mareechi & Co’s magical mystery and misery to his tapas. D tries to refuse. He cant give Rama after getting him only now after a huge gap of years. Viswamithra is angered. He says King Harishchandra (D's ancestor) cast the die and promised wealth as high as the die would go and lived up to the promise. D, Ayodhya king, not wanting to help V kill Rakshas? Only someone who has not lied in his childhood, someone who has strong arms, the one who respects his Guru and his parents, is a Kshatriya alone can kill the demons. Only Rama befits this. But D is refusing Rama because of his love for son.

Disappointed, V is about to go when Kulguru interferes saying D should be a king and not father. Kulguru reminds D how he too had to go and fight the demons when D went back to his father Aja after education, and how D succeeded. D comes out of his love for his son and becomes the king again. He apologises to V and asks V to take Rama. Rama is all for it. He considers it as a great pride to go and fight as Raghu clan. Laxman begs V to take him too since his only objective in life is to go wherever Rama goes and provide him protection.

Rama and Lakshman get ready to go. V takes them to the scene of the crime. Rama says he cant kill a woman (Tarkal is a woman rakshas). V says she is not a person with womanly characters. So, Rama agrees to kill the Rakshasas.

At the moment, comes Tarkal, bullying soldiers. Rama shoots some arrows at her fury and then finally kills her. V & Co are much pleased and get on with their yagna. Tarkal’s son Subahu and Mareechi discover their dead mom and vow revenge and start attacking. But Rama puts a safety net over the yagna and starts fighting all with the help of Lakshman.

They kill Subahu and send Mareechi back to Lanka. V & Co’s yagna is successful and the result is a magical powerful bow and arrow created for the safety of maanav and not to be disused. V presents it to Rama as he is the ideal person and he promises not to disuse the weapon. V also gives Rama a vow that he can stay without food and water without getting troubled at all for days together. Rama is obliged.

D gets info to all wives that Rama is healthy and fine and successful and presently undergoing training on how to live without food, sleep and water. Wives senti and ask for Rama. D says when Guru is in charge of ward, parents are not to question.
