R & L reach Panchavathi. They see the fallen fruits and assume the worst. They cant find Sita. They go out in the forest in the hope that the kidnappers haven’t gone away far, although the diversion technique of Mareechi becoming golden deer was brilliant.
The constant shouting of Sita falls on Jataayu’s ears. He sees what happening. He is an old eagle. Still, he flies towards Ravana and tries to hurt him. But Ravana calmly cuts both of J’s wings. J apologises to Sita and falls down, with great pain and starts shouting “Rama.”
R & L in their search of the woods hear J’s shouts. They approach him. From him they gather that Sita is kidnapped by Ravana. Ram thanks a lot to J for helping...J dies. But just before that, Rama tells him not to tell his pop in heaven about Sita’s kidnap else D will think how incapable Rama is! Rama considers the death of his pop’s pal as very sacred and performs the last rites thinking J was his father himself.
