Chapter 23: Prahallada given poison

Kayadu’s saddisms, beggisms and HK’s no-isms. Swarbhanu gives idea of poisoning Prahallada. HK happy. Poisonated stuff to Prahallada in the morning.

Lakshmi is informed of the process by Narada. Immediately she goes to Shiva for help, who readily agrees to help. So when Prahallada drinks, Shiva consumes the poison and Prahallada is unaffected and unknown of what’s happening. Kayadu hysteric when she learns that it was poison she gave her son. So she visits Prahallada, who is fit-n-fine! He says Vishnu’s the one who is helping him all around.

Vishnu’s dialogues that a bad mind like HK’s can never think good. And that HK was approaching this own death than Prahallada’s, because all deaths and births are at the hands of Brahma.

HK is dissatisfied with Swarbhanu for his dissatisfactory actions (w.r.t poisoning). He becomes angry and orders Swarbhanu to get out.

Then enters HK’s sis Sinhika and her hubby Kamroop Naresh. HK is enchanted. He enquires what she’s been doing all these years? She says she was doing tapas to conquer fire and that she was granted the wish by Agni Dev (God of Fire) to be in fire and remain unaffected. So she wanted to display it in front of her bro first. And hence her coming. HK is pleased.

The ceremony begins. She enters fire and she is not affected by it. All are amazed and praise her. HK is happy and informs Vishnu that he has got one more tool now.

In small talk amongst kin, comes the topic of Prahallada. Hk’s angry. Informs all events. Topic shifts to who has to be the next prince. Sinhika is ready to break the promise: the promise that only she, hubby, HK, Kayadu knows; that she being barren had adopted with consent, Kayadu’s first child, Ahlad and treated as her son, without the outside world knowing this. But nothing doin, says HK. A promise is a promise. Still…..Sinhika wants to return the gratitude and this is a way, so that, Ahlad can be the prince of both Kamroop and HK’s asura loka.

After some exchange, topic is back on Prahallada. Whaddado? Sinhika visits Prahallada. Tells him about Vishnu killing Hiranyaaksha. Prahallada asks why? Rape. Prahallada is shocked and says Hiranyaaksha deserves his death. Sinhika is unsuccessful. She plans evil:
